Our Philanthropy 'Beta Bring It On'

We are proud to announce that Bring It On 2011 will be airing on TV, the first IFC philanthropy to ever do so. With the help of WLUF, we hope to increase awareness about Alzheimer's disease.

Beta Bring It On has become the staple IFC philanthropy here at the University of Florida and we continually strive to have a greater impact on our community. Last year, we were proud to raise over $36,000. With your help, we can be even more successful this year.

The Gamma Xi Chapter of Beta Theta Pi is proud to host "Beta Bring It On" at the University of Florida. Bring It On is a competitive cheerleading competition that challenges the mental, physical, and creative abilities of the participants. Proceeds from the event are donated to two different service organizations. The first co-recipient is the national Alzheimer's Association. The portion of the proceeds donated to the Alzheimer's Association goes straight to Alzheimer's research. The second portion of the proceeds goes directly to the Thomas Oliver Brown Memorial Scholarship, a scholarship fund geared towards helping underprivileged students achieve higher education at the University of Florida.

Each year, over 200 participants use their athletic abilities for a benevolent cause. Organizations take pride in their ability to compete in the cheerleading portion of the event, while never losing sight of the real reason behind the event. Since its inception in 2006, Beta Challenge has raised money to directly benefit research on Alzheimer's and the Thomas Oliver Brown Scholarship Foundation. It is our belief that a cure to Alzheimer's disease can be found and made accessible to people across the country. Additionally, our dedication to academics has led us to benefit a scholarship foundation that provides funds for underprivileged students at the University of Florida.
